The Christmas Saints

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have spent their year helping others, and they didn’t take a break on Christmas Day. The couple spent Monday handing out gifts to refugee children in the Costa Rican capital San Jose.

Quote: “We had a wonderful Christmas both with the Costa Rican people and the Colombian refugee families we met,” Jolie said in a statement. Her visit was part of her work as a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

“The conflict in Colombia is the greatest humanitarian tragedy in the Western Hemisphere, but it receives very little international attention,” Jolie said after her arrival in San Jose. “My Christmas message to Colombian refugees and to the millions of displaced people in Colombia is that the world has not totally forgotten them.”

Whoa. They did what? They didn’t spend their time home at Christmas?! Oh my god, my true heroes!

It looks like a big fat publicity stunt. Do they have new movies coming out any time soon?

If they really want to be saints and do good then they shouldn’t brag about it on the news. Sheesh. I know they can use their fame to do good etc. But to show that you are so “good” that you don’t even celebrate Christmas, but help others. Thats just too much.

PS: I wonder with who all the adopted kids are?

My feeling is that people who put them down for doing this work on Christmas (or any other time) are feeling guilty that they don’t do much for others. It’s easy to cover up guilt by being critical of others. Try helping someone, then it won’t bother you so much to read this stuff about the Jolie-Pitts.
